The MOT Studio Artists will perform at the National Opera Center in New York on April 19, 7:00 PM.
As part of Opera America’s Emerging Artist Recital Series, companies from across the U.S. present recitals featuring competition winners and the most promising young singers from their training programs. Michigan Opera Theatre Studio is honored to be included in this series as the artists prepare to take the stage of the Marc A. Scorca Recital Hall at the National Opera Center in New York.
Each year from September to June, the resident artists of Michigan Opera Theatre Studio gain valuable experience through myriad performance opportunities on the mainstage and in community productions, while honing their skills through masterclasses and training with an array of world-class professionals, guest artists, and coaches. Through their residency, Studio Artists also benefit from advanced individual training and mentorship from tenor Richard Leech, MOT’s Director of Resident Artist Programs.
For this concert, the Studio Artists will present repertoire that highlights both their own specialties as well as MOTs recent and upcoming seasons. Selections will range from Handel, Rossini, Donizetti and Borodin to Adams, Bernstein, Britten, Ricky Ian Gordon and David DiChiera. Opera America will host a reception following the concert as the Studio Artists enjoy a photo-op in the Opera Center’s newly dedicated David DiChiera Overlook.
The performance will be live-streamed and can be viewed at operaamerica.org/Live
