Join us on Saturday, March 18, 2023 for A Signature Evening with Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater in support of Dance education and mainstage programming at the Detroit Opera House—one of Detroit's largest cultural assets.

Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater grew from a now-fabled performance in March 1958 at the 92nd Street Y in New York City. Designated as “a vital American cultural ambassador to the world,” AAADT celebrates the uniqueness of the African-American cultural experience and the preservation and enrichment of the American modern dance heritage.

The Purpose of the Event

A Signature Evening with Alvin Ailey is a new fundraising event intended to support:

1. Investment in mainstage programming that represents the voices of the Detroit community.
2. Education and community programs that bring dance and opera programs to more than 20,000 community members annually, including 7,000 children through in-school programming.
