Opera Teens can attend the following performances this season:
Dance Theatre of Harlem: Saturday, November 15, 2025, 7:30pm REGISTRATION FOR THIS EVENT IS NOW FULL
Highways and Valleys: Sunday, December 7, 2024, 2:30pm (appropriate for ages 16+)
Paul Taylor Dance Company: Saturday, April 11, 2026, 7:30pm (appropriate for ages 13-19)
The Hobbit – Presented by Detroit Opera Youth Chorus: Saturday, May 2, 2026, 2:00pm (appropriate for ages 13-19)

Highways and Valleys – Two American Love Stories
Journey into the soul of America with Detroit Opera’s inspiring double-bill. In Highway 1, USA, William Grant Still, the “Dean of African American composers,” paints a portrait of a family navigating the promises and pressures of the American Dream. It is paired with Kurt Weill’s folk-inspired Down in the Valley, a newly staged production and premiere about love and sacrifice.
