Ever wanted to write, compose, and star in your own production? Create & Perform lets you do it all! In this innovative two-week program, young artists create their own stories, dances, and music compositions, culminating in a performance at the Detroit Opera House. Participants in Create & Perform take part in all aspects of mounting a new production, and will build their skills as performers, composers, designers, directors, and crew members while they write and perform an original opera.

Directed by Dr. Mary Martin, Operetta Remix is perfect for aspiring artists ages 13 to 18 who want to build their skills in singing, acting, stage movement, healthy vocal technique, and audition practice. Taught by experienced opera and theatre professionals, Operetta Remix will explore scenes and songs from your favorite operas. operettas and musicals. Operetta Remix will culminate with a performance on the Detroit Opera House mainstage at 7:00PM on August 7, 2026.
Scholarships are available. Registration for the 2026 program will open in January.
