Dance Theatre of Harlem and Detroit Opera seek local supernumeraries (non-speaking, non-dancing stage roles) to appear in DTH’s production of Firebird at the Detroit Opera House.

 

WHO: students and adults, 18 years and older

HEIGHT RANGE: 5’ 4” – 6’ 2”

CHEST/BUST RANGE: 32” – 40”

 

PERFORMANCES:

• Saturday, November 15 – 7:30 PM

• Sunday, November 16 – 2:30 PM

must arrive 30 minutes prior; expect to be present for up to 3 hours

REHEARSAL:

• Friday, November 14 – 4:00 PM – 6:00 PM

 

ROLE DESCRIPTION:

Supernumeraries (“supers”) appear onstage as part of the visual storytelling. These are silent, non-dancing roles that require strong stage presence, focus, and reliability.

 

REQUIREMENTS:

• Availability for the rehearsal and all performance dates (up to 2 hours for rehearsals; up to 3 hours for performances).

• Ability to follow stage direction accurately and maintain focus during scenes.

• Comfortable wearing a costume and light makeup as required.

• Must fall within the listed height and chest/bust size ranges.
