Detroit Opera in partnership with Carhartt and Design Core welcomes Charlese Antoinette for an insightful presentation on the costume designs for Detroit Opera’s upcoming presentation of Highways & Valleys – Two American Love Stories.
Charlese Antoinette is a Los Angeles-based costume designer known for her work on the Oscar-winning film Judas and the Black Messiah and will be seen next in the highly anticipated film Children of Blood and Bone. Charlese is bringing to life what it means to tell working-class stories that reflect the Detroit community through costume. This presentation will provide insight into the inspiration and craftmanship that brought each costume piece together. Detroit Opera Resident Artists, Brianna J. Robinson and Travis Leon Williams, will also perform a piece from Highways & Valleys – Two American Love Stories. Join us as we dive into the world of costume design and storytelling!
