We bring opera to you through:

  • in-school programs and summer camps that help students build critical academic and social skills
  • touring productions and recitals
  • free vocal training and mentorship for Detroit Public School teens
  • pre-professional performance experiences through the Detroit Opera Youth Chorus
  • free pre-show talks and digital resources

Opportunities

For K-12

Our touring opera programs span ages and abilities, from storytelling initiatives that build literacy to hands-on explorations of music and theater to one-on-one voice lessons. Students ages 8-14 can immerse themselves in voice, theater, composing, and writing—all culminating in performances onstage at the Detroit Opera House.
